Aldo Pietro Maggioni is a world-renowned cardiologist and clinical trialist. He currently serves as the Director of the Research Center of the Italian Association of Hospital Cardiologists (ANMCO) and Vice President of the ReS (Research and Health) Foundation. His career is distinguished by his leadership in some of the most influential clinical trials in cardiology, including the GISSI studies.

He has a long history of collaboration with the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), serving as the Scientific Coordinator of the EURObservational Research Programme (EORP) from 2010 to 2020. Dr. Maggioni is a prolific author with an exceptional scientific impact, focusing on the epidemiology and treatment of myocardial infarction and heart failure. He is a member of numerous international steering committees and safety monitoring boards for global clinical trials.
