Dan Gaita

Chief of Cardiology in Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and Professor of Cardiology in Cardiology Department of University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara, Romania. He is Board Member of European Heart Network, Vice President of Romanian Society of Cardiology and President of CardioPrevent Foundation. His long term commitment in the field of Cardiovascular medicine is reflected in international positions and pioneering activities: - 2006 – 2010 – Member of ESC Education and Accreditation Committee (Chairman of Education and Accreditation Committee - European Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation - since 2009 – initiator and co-director of Dubrovnik Cardiology Update (endorsed by ESC Education Committee) – 2009/2011/2013/2013/2017/2019 edition - 2012 – 2015 – Board Member of World Heart Federation - 2020 – 2022 – Board Member of European Society of Cardiology, „CardioDiabetology” is one of the main direction of his activity – highlighting that since 2007 he initiated in Romania „CardioDiab Expert Meeting” (this year celebrating the 17th annual meeting) and organizing since 2013 regional courses endorsed by the ESC : EU-CDA (European CardioDiabetology Alliance) in Bucharest, Chisinau, Almaty and Sofia.

Professor Dan Gaita is the Director of the Cardiology Department at the Universitatea de Medicina si Farmacie "Victor Babes" in Timisoara, Romania. In his clinical practice, he operates as the Head of the Cardiology Clinic at the Institutul de Boli Cardiovasculare in Timisoara.

Professor Gaita is highly involved in professional cardiology networks at both national and international levels. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Romanian Society of Cardiology and as a Board Member of the European Heart Network. His past leadership roles include tenures as a Board Member of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and a Board Member of the World Heart Federation (WHF).
