Professor Ulf Landmesser is a German cardiologist who currently holds multiple leadership roles at the Charité in Berlin, including Full Professor of Cardiology at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Board Member of the Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité, and Director of the Friede Springer - Cardiovascular Prevention Center. He completed his medical training and doctoral thesis at the Medical School of Hannover, complemented by an exchange program at the University of Connecticut and research at Imperial College London, later achieving his Habilitation in Hannover in 2005. His career includes a research fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, USA, a tenure as Senior Consultant and Vice Chairman of Cardiology at the University Hospital Zurich, and honorary professorships at the University of Zurich and University College London.
Professor Landmesser has established an extensive track record of engagement within European and national medical societies. He is a Board Member of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), a member of the ESC Clinician Practice Guidelines Committee, and has served on several high-profile guidelines task forces for dyslipidemia, myocardial revascularization, and non-ST elevation acute coronary syndromes. He has also contributed significantly to the German Cardiac Society, acting as Conference President for its Annual Meeting in 2025. He serves as a Deputy Editor for the European Heart Journal and was recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher in the top 1% of his field from 2019 to 2022.
